FREQUENTY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. What is Lawncare?
Lawn care is the process of maintaining and caring for your lawn. Lawncare encompasses proper watering, mowing habits, fertilization, weed, insect and disease control as required.
2. What time of year do you fertilize your lawn?
The correct time to fertilize your lawn depends on the type of grass that you have, what part of the country you live in and the time of year. Our lawncare program takes the guess work out of fertilizing your lawn. We are the experts and our program is based on more than 200 years of collective experience and the latest products and technology.
3. Can you fertilize wet grass?
Fertilizing your lawn when the grass is wet is not a problem in most cases. You don’t want to apply lawn fertilizer in a downpour or heavy rain, but if the grass is wet it will actually help the grass plants utilize the nutrients quicker and more efficiently.
4. When Should I spray my lawn for weeds?
Timing for spraying your lawn for weeds depends on weather and if the weeds are actively growing. Generally lawn weed control is applied to actively growing weeds in mid to late spring for the best results. Our lawn program offers fertilization and lawn weed controls based on the time of year, grass type and whether weeds are actively growing.
5. What is pre emergent weed control?
Pre emergent weed controls are an important part of any lawn care program. These weed control products need to be applied before the target weeds are actively growing; hence the term “preemergent”. In most cases preemeregent weed controls are applied to prevent crabgrass, other grassy weeds and certain broadleaf weeds.
6. How to get rid of a lawn full of weeds?
Professional lawn care programs offer the homeowner with the best solution to rid your lawn of weeds. Through a series of scheduled visits, that combine preemergent and post emergent weed controls and fertilizers your lawn will become greener and weed free over a relatively short period of time.
7. How to reseed a lawn with weeds?
Reseeding a lawn that has weeds in it requires a plan and a process. For best results, reseeding a lawn is best done in the fall. A professional lawncare service will apply products that will start to get rid of weeds in the lawn. Through regularly schedules visits, the lawn should have fewer and fewer weeds and grow stronger to start to fill in bare areas. Then in late summer or early fall reseeding can take place.
8. When should I water my lawn after fertilization?
In most cases it is a good practice to water your lawn immediately after it has been fertilized. If the lawn was sprayed for weeds, it is recommended that you wait until it is dry (usually within an hour or two), before applying water to the lawn.
9. How often can you fertilize grass?
Grass should be fertilized on a regular basis during the growing season. Generally, depending on the type of grass your have and where you live in country, grass should be fertilized several times per year. Our lawn fertilization service not only fertilizes your grass at the right time and in the right amount, but provides weed control and other services as needed.
10. What happens if I put too much fertilizer on my lawn?
If not applied correctly and in the right amount, fertilizers can cause damage to your grass. Too much fertilizer can draw water out of the grass plants, causing what is commonly called “fertilizer burn”. To get a great lawn and for peace of mind, consider the lawn fertilization services and professional lawn care from ExperiGreen.
